MINDSET

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been someone who questioned everything. If a narrative didn’t make sense or resonate with me, I’d stop and ask myself, “Does this really add up?”I believe that having this mindset and personality has prepared me well for the world we live in today - and has served me in standing strong against whatever the matrix throws our way.

Where It All Began

My love for sport - especially football - was my passion growing up. After years of hard work and sacrifice, I was fortunate enough to fulfil my childhood dream of becoming a professional footballer. I left home at 16 to begin a two-year YTS scholarship, which led to my first professional contract.

Over the next 18 years, I played in the Championship, achieved three promotions, reached the 5th round of the FA Cup twice, and stepped out at Old Trafford against Manchester United in front of 75,000 fans, live on TV - one of the proudest moments of my career.

But amongst all the joy and success in those early years, there was deep heartache. I lost my nana to breast cancer - a moment that, without question, had the single biggest impact on my life and instantly changed my outlook forever.

For four long, gruelling years, I watched her fight with unimaginable strength. The chemotherapy took a heavy toll on her immune system, leaving her weaker and weaker. Watching someone you love so deeply go through something so inhumane and unnatural was devastating - not just for me, but for our whole family. Eventually, she lost the will and the strength to keep fighting - and no one could ever blame her.

That loss lit a fire in me. It became the driving force behind everything I do. It’s the reason I dedicated myself to learning about health, wellbeing, holistic healing, detoxification, and plant-based nutrition. The pain of losing her still lives within me today - but I use it as fuel, as inspiration, and as motivation to help as many people as I possibly can.

MY PASSION FOR HEALING

I chose to turn a deeply negative and traumatic experience into something positive. Losing my nana shaped me into a different person entirely. I never wanted to go through - or see anyone else go through - that kind of pain again.

That was the moment my passion for healing and all things health truly began. It changed my life for the better and transformed the way I lived from that day forward. I became a self-proclaimed biohacker, obsessed with longevity, cleansing, detoxification, and becoming the best possible version of myself - both physically and mentally.

After enjoying some successful seasons in football, I invested everything I had into creating my first nutrition brand in 2011 - Revolution Foods. Launching it alongside my two best friends made the journey even more special. Being able to help them leave jobs they didn’t fully enjoy, and step into something meaningful and impactful, filled me with pride. Building something positive, with people you love and trust, is an accomplishment I’ll always treasure.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Looking back, I realise that building a business driven by both fear and passion was always destined for success - when your intentions are pure and your mission is clear, failure becomes almost impossible.

It all began in my best friend Gareth’s garage, selling a few of the ingredients I used to take myself. From there, things gained momentum quickly - Sky Sports interviews, national newspaper coverage, and the recognition of being the first plant-based professional footballer to do something like this.

From the garage, we built enough traction to move into our first small shop and warehouse. Then came the creation of Raw Sport - a plant-based performance and nutrition brand - which we scaled to where it is today: three fulfilment facilities and sales in over 70 countries worldwide.

I’ve since moved on from Revolution Foods and Raw Sport, stepping away from both to begin the next chapter of my journey: The Real Health Store (TRHS).

This brand is the culmination of everything I’ve learned - every experience, every challenge, and my deep understanding of what people truly need to thrive in today’s world. TRHS is built on passion, purpose, and integrity, and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve created. And the truth is… this is just the beginning.
