Vitamin D is one of the most important nutrients in the human body, yet here in the UK our ability to produce enough naturally becomes increasingly difficult as sunlight exposure falls, particularly throughout autumn and winter.
I created Hormone D because I didn't want another generic Vitamin D supplement.
TRHS Hormone D combines plant-derived Vitamin D3 from pine with fermented Vitamin K2 MK-7, Irish Moss and C8 MCT powder to create a more complete formula built around immune function, bones, muscles and normal calcium metabolism.
No lanolin-derived D3.

WHAT'S INSIDE AND WHY IT MATTERS
Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol from Pine)
Most conventional Vitamin D3 supplements use cholecalciferol derived from lanolin, a wax obtained from sheep's wool.
I wanted a plant-based alternative.
Hormone D therefore uses Vitamin D3 sourced from pine, providing 3,000 IU per capsule.
Vitamin D contributes to:
• Normal function of the immune system
• Maintenance of normal bones and teeth
• Normal muscle function
• Normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus
• Normal blood calcium concentrations
• The process of cell division
Despite its name, Vitamin D isn't simply another vitamin. Once metabolised by the body, its active form functions as a steroid hormone, which is exactly why I've always referred to it as Hormone D.
Vitamin K2 (MK-7)
If you're supplementing Vitamin D, I believe Vitamin K2 deserves serious consideration alongside it.
Vitamin D contributes to normal calcium absorption and utilisation, while Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal blood clotting.
We specifically use Vitamin K2 in the MK-7 form.
MK-7 remains in circulation considerably longer than shorter-chain forms of Vitamin K2, making it particularly well suited to daily supplementation.
Rather than simply increasing Vitamin D intake in isolation, Hormone D brings D3 and K2 together in one deliberately formulated product.
Fresh Irish Moss Powder
Anyone who has followed TRHS from the beginning will know how highly I rate Irish Moss.
Our Irish Moss is ethically sourced from the Atlantic coast of Ireland and provides the formula with a natural wholefood component alongside the isolated vitamins.
Irish Moss naturally contains a diverse spectrum of minerals and trace elements, which is precisely why I wanted it included rather than creating another basic D3 and K2 capsule.
MCT C8 Caprylic Acid Powder
Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 are both fat-soluble vitamins.
So including a lipid component within the formula made complete sense to me.
Hormone D contains MCT powder providing C8 caprylic acid, giving the formula a carefully selected fat component alongside D3 and K2.
Rather than simply throwing four ingredients together, every component of Hormone D has a reason for being there.
WHY I MADE THIS FORMULA
Vitamin D3 is one of the most widely consumed supplements in the world.
But look closely at many products and they're incredibly basic.
A cheap source of D3.
Often derived from lanolin.
No K2.
No supporting whole-food ingredients.
And frequently manufactured using fillers and processing aids because they're easier and cheaper to run through high-speed machinery.
That's not how I formulate products.
I wanted plant-derived D3 from pine.
I wanted Vitamin K2 MK-7 alongside it.
I wanted C8 MCT because D3 and K2 are fat-soluble.
And I wanted Irish Moss to introduce a natural wholefood component.
At 3,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per capsule, Hormone D provides a meaningful amount in a simple once-daily formula.
Nothing complicated.
